Our first simple temple clock was a small but significant experiment that laid the groundwork for the more refined Doric Temple Clock. With this piece, we began to explore architectural elements—experimenting with proportions, angles, and the overall form to see what could be achieved on a miniature scale. Despite its modest size, we were quite pleased with the results, particularly the way various components could be layered to create a sense of depth and classical harmony.

This small architectural clock was originally designed as a simple shelf or desk clock. However, we added a discreet rear hook, allowing it to be used as a compact wall clock as well. Rather than replicating any specific historical structure, its design drew loosely from the imagined forms of ancient Greek and Roman temples. It was entirely handmade from solid mahogany, lending it a rich, warm tone and substantial feel.

The clock dial itself was salvaged from an old carriage clock, and bears the name ‘Rapport London’. We felt the vintage brass detailing of the dial paired beautifully with the mahogany wood, giving the piece a pleasing contrast. The final dimensions were 13cm tall, 11.5cm wide, and 4cm deep—small, but full of character.

If it’s still available, you can purchase it here. Otherwise, send us a message and we can look to make another simple temple clock.
