Gothic Tower Shelf Clock

Gothic Tower Shelf Clock
Our little Gothic Tower Shelf Clock

Gothic Tower Shelf Clock. This is a smaller version of our Tower Clock, made to be a simple shelf or desk clock. Rather than being a specific real-life building, this one takes the form of an imagined pinnacle tower or castle gatehouse. It also echoes the style of a mid-nineteenth century ‘steeple clock’. Those were made in America, by the likes of Ansonia. Mind, those examples never went to the effort to tile the roofs!

The clock has a solid mahogany main case, with walnut buttresses. Then a range of veneers cover the roof for the slates, to make a subtle set of contrasts. The white dial is salvaged from an old carriage clock, the pinnacles are made from resin. To this we have installed a brand new quartz movement, which has a mild almost inaudible tick, taking one AA battery.

This little clock measures 17.5cm tall, 11cm wide and 8cm deep. You can purchase this clock on our Etsy shop here. Would you like something like this but slightly different? Perhaps something a little bigger, or with a different dial? We will be glad to hear from you to talk about customisation. Contact us here.
